We Work to Prevent Domestic Abuse and Violence Against Women
About the Program
Our programs for women are dedicated to settlement, integration, development, and empowerment of the clients approaching the Centre. We create opportunities for them to overcome their challenges. Those facing domestic violence are empowered to summon the courage to escape the psychological and social-economic controls imposed upon them by their abusers. When women choose to break the cycle of violence, our programs assist them to transform from being victims into survivors by building their self-confidence and making them become more independent. We create an environment which allows women to be fully engaged in their communities, socially, culturally, economically and to live a meaningful and enjoyable life in Canada.
200 women facing domestic violence were provided support specific to their needs. They participated in the Reduce Abuse program, attended Financial Literacy and Women Empowerment sessions.
